We’re proud to present Exposé, a series of portraits in which we introduce you to remarkable trendsetters who are involved with flowers and/or plants. In edition #24 we are pleased to introduce you to Mathilde Karrèr: an idiosyncratic still-life photographer with a weakness for flowers - and also the director on Exposé.
This time Exposé's director is in the spotlight. We talked to Mathilde about the driving forces behind her work, her entrepreneurial spirit and why she likes working with flowers.
True DIY
Sneakers in a setting that echoes the Dutch Old Masters, 80s-inspired mash-ups and beauty shoots in soft pastel colours: Mathilde Karrèr’s work cannot be pigeonholed. But no-one can overlook one consistent element: almost every image contains flowers. From individual buds to complete works of art, all made by Mathilde herself. Because if there’s one spoiler we can give about our lengthy interview with this inspirational woman, it’s that she’s very capable of fending for herself and can keep a lot of plates spinning at the same time. Have we tickled your curiosity?
