MAKE YOUR OWN EASTER BASKET WITH PLANTS

Want to make one of those green Easter baskets full of cheerful spring flowers and plants yourself? It's simple to do! Gather the supplies below and get started.

you will need

A basket with handles. Preferably a basket that is open on the side, so you can enjoy the cheerful greenery from the side too.
Moss
Flowers and plants in cheerful spring colours. You can also use cuttings. In our example, we used the following flowers and plants: pansies, fern, craspedia, oregano, yellow broom, bacopa and orchid.

how to make it

Fill the basket with moss, covering the bottom and some of the sides of the basket. Plant some colourful spring plants between the moss, then decorate the basket with flowers and plant cuttings. Use the holes in the basket as if you were making a flower arrangement with chicken wire. You can put flowers and plants in the holes as you like. Happy with your design? Get ready to look for eggs!

prolong the life of your basket

To make sure your basket shines during the scavenger hunt, make the basket as soon as you can beforehand. After the scavenger hunt, turn it into a Kokedama (plant pendant with moss) that you can enjoy for weeks! You can put the loose flowers in small vases to enjoy your floral display for as long as possible.
